Testimonials. Why I love doing what I do💗

Binge eating was taking over my daily life. My day began with thinking about food and ended with still thinking about food. Every trip in the car was a binge of fast food…multiple times in the one trip. Meals no longer were satisfying; food just wasn’t doing what I wanted it to do.

I wanted it to make me feel invisible…to distract me from the stresses of my work. I was feeling exhausted. I’ve tried every weight loss program and then some. I have worked with therapists, but no one focused specifically on binge eating. I needed some hands on tools, and it was time for me to take a different approach.

In working with Christina, I found the tools to get me started…and more than that…I found in her someone who listened between the lines…who quickly understood who I am and what is important to me. Some of the simplest of ideas have become a foundation of my daily life. I have tools I can refer to when I’m starting to feel the edges of a binge wanting to begin.

I’m done looking for the latest diet. It is the skills I have learned in working with Christina that will propel me forward. I have lost weight, and that is great as I am a very large woman and I’m concerned about my mobility…but…the best part of working with Christina has been gaining a continuance that I can live a life free of binge eating.

    Thank you, Christina.

I had my youngest less than a week before Covid lockdown hit. My children were born only 20 months apart, and we had just moved from New York City to a city with a big driving culture. In a matter of fewer than two years, I went from someone active and fully independent to a mom of two, in a global pandemic, in a much more stationary body. Over the next year and a half, dealing with lockdown, young children, and isolation, my self-confidence plummeted, and my weight crept up.

My body felt wholly foreign to me, and I wanted something to change, but I also wanted to be kinder to myself than I had been as a young woman. I knew that extremes were not healthy for myself (or my kids) or my self-esteem. I knew dieting would fail and extremes would lead to binge and purge cycles. I wanted to find a gentler approach, which is how I found Christina.

She has been a true gift, a light, and a positive force in my reintroduction to myself and healthy and sustainable eating, living, and exercise. She has helped me reevaluate self-destructive patterns and tweak how I do things, significantly impacting my happiness and confidence. I feel in control around food most of the time, which was not the case for a long time. I cannot recommend her more highly!

In working with Christina, not only have I stopped the weekly binges, I’ve begun to develop a better relationship with food and can see a massive shift in my mindset. Food is no longer the enemy; I can enjoy it without guilt now. Since I come from a fitness background and work in the entertainment business, there’s always been huge amounts of pressure to look a certain way. This is why I’ve always been on a diet and tracked my weight, macros, calories, etc. And though I did achieve some aesthetic results with that, it wasn’t long term and all the restrictive eating resulted in more binging, weight gain, health issues, and obsessing over the scale. I realized that for me to lose fat properly, I had to address the binge eating and emotional eating aspect first.

Christina is such a fantastic listener. She always has realistic tips and advice on how to move forward from a binge or “bad day”. She’s taught me to give myself grace and empathy throughout this journey and helped me realize that there are so many interesting things about me other than what I weigh and look like. Our bodies can do incredible things for us - and to value that instead. With her guidance, I’ve gotten better at reframing my self-sabotaging thoughts and all-or-nothing mindset and can see a huge difference in how I even approach my daily life and work outside of fitness.

We are now beginning to work on my fat loss journey starting with learning how to eat until satisfied. Relearning how to be mindful of my hunger/fullness cues and to regain the trust that my body knows when it’s hungry and when it’s not. I am so thankful for Christina and am looking forward to learning even more in the weeks ahead.

I was dealing with a great deal of stress in my professional life and my family life. I am a stress/emotional eater. I found myself turning to food a lot as a result of stress. I knew I wanted to stop this behavior and find better ways to deal with stress. I had always used food to deal with my emotions and I have always wanted to find a way to stop this habit. That’s what led me to work with Christina.

I had read all the books and listened to all the podcasts. I’ve tried every diet there is out there. I knew I needed a different approach. I knew I needed to deal with my thoughts and beliefs and work on changing them. Based on the podcast ‘Breaking up with Binge Eating’, I felt that Georgie and her staff could help me overcome my overeating habits and learn new tactics to deal with these habits.

Working with Christina has been very helpful in learning new habits. I now know turning to food when stressed isn’t the answer. I know I can find a quiet place & allow myself to decompress from a stressful day and it is effective— more effective than eating a lot after a stressful day or situation. Christina also helped me in determining what are some real life treats I can incorporate in my day that aren’t food related. She also taught me to be mindful when eating so I can ensure I am fully tasting and enjoying my food at mealtime. This was a game changer.

I highly recommend working with Christina. She is a great source of inspiration and knowledge in learning new and effective tools to overcome overeating and binge eating. She will guide you with a loving hand, and offer tips and alternative methods to assist you on your journey to food freedom. She takes the time to get to know you on a very personal level so she can better assist you with your goals. Whether it takes you 6 months or 2 years to reach your goals, it is worth your time. I never thought I could achieve food freedom, but I did. And while I’m not perfect, I am happy with my progress and I couldn’t have done it without Christina.

I have struggled to find balanced eating practices for most of my adolescent and adult life. I swung between very nutrient dense and hyper focused on nutrition and totally unhealthy binge eating. During a big life transition, I found myself returning to binge eating habits long after I thought that I left those behind. I felt like a failure and very distressed to be choosing these unhealthy behaviors once again. My Challenge has been finding a balanced nutritious and flexible eating routine. My other challenge has been feeling confident and proud of my eating and exercise habits as well as my healthy able body.

I reached out for help because I felt like I did not have other options. Traditional therapy and group counseling are difficult to find while living internationally. One on one coaching offered ease and flexibility. I wanted to tackle my eating behaviors specifically and once and for all! I also felt low and kind of incapable of pulling myself up because it hadn't been working for me to go it alone.

I feel balanced and confident both in my food choices and my ability to self regulate. I have learned how to feel good in my body. I have learned how to come back from setbacks making me more resilient and confident facing future challenges. Physically, I sleep better, have more energy, stable mood patterns, and more strength. But I think the emotional impact is also really significant. I feel more comfortable with myself, how I talk to myself that is my inner dialogue. I feel proud of myself and my efforts. That is not some thing we grown-ups feel very often and it feels great!

Give it a try! There are few spaces where we can talk about food, eating behaviors, our bodies, body image. I found it very impactful to have and affirming encouraging and skilled conversation partner. So much about eating and nutrition is covered in shame and stigma. Quite frankly it is uncomfortable to admit that you need help with a very basic human behavior – eating! Shame dies in community. When the shame dies, it is much easier to change behaviors. It is difficult to change persistent habits. I found it helpful to have a coach who encouraged and empowered me to practice what I hope will be lasting life skills.

In the last decade, my lowest weight was 150 lbs. following a horseback riding accident. I vowed to try to stay at this weight but slowly edged up to my pre-accident weight of 170 lbs. Just before COVID, I lost around 8 lbs. But with COVID, I was sedentary and overeating. I climbed to 180 lbs., my highest weight ever. I felt frustrated and had little energy. I wanted to look good for an upcoming class reunion and my daughter’s wedding. So I joined a gym.

At the gym, I found it hard to get to classes on a regular basis. Once I did, I felt stronger but wasn’t seeing any weight loss. I had spoken with Haylin several times about the benefits of nutrition counseling before calling Christina.

I felt comfortable with Christina immediately. I believe she truly empathized with my struggle. We began with a crash course in nutrition and she dispelled many myths and corrected alot of misinformation I had about eating. Each week, she gave me one or several goals for the following week and then reviewed and discussed my progress and, sometimes, my lack of progress. I may not always be consistent, but I know what to eat and when. Behaviors are starting to change for the better. My daily life in general has become less chaotic and more organized. I feel energized and positive and have seen a weight loss of almost 10 lbs. My immediate goal to lose 10 additional lbs. It looks achievable, and I’ve committed to getting to the gym at least twice a week, supplemented by several outdoor walks, and continuing my diligence with my eating habits.

Christina has been an outstanding mentor and educator. She has a very gentle manner and is so easy to like! The weekly call is so important for correction, reinforcement, and most of all, encouragement and recognition. I feel there is always more to learn and more room for improvement, and I look forward to continuing coaching into the future.

Working with Christina was truly a transformative experience. Over seven months, I not only shed 10 pounds but also found a renewed sense of self and purpose.

Initially I grappled with emotional eating, Christina provided the guidance and support I needed to delve deeper into the reasons why. I’ve tried dozens of DIY approaches but was never able to make a significant change in my eating behaviors alone.

Through her insightful coaching, I realized that my ultimate goal wasn't really to change my body, but to create a life I loved. In addition to lower numbers on the scale, I gained invaluable tools which empowered me to create a life I want to live.

Christina helped me identify and strengthen the lifestyle habits I needed to get there.

  • Michelle J.*

I really appreciated how Christina created a space for me to talk about my fears and discomfort around changing my eating habits after recovering from an eating disorder. I don’t think I’d ever had the chance to really recognize and express those before. Our conversations about it helped me move forward.

Christina is positive and encouraging as we discussed specific scenarios and made detailed plans for how I would stick with my habits.

Having another person for accountability helped me get going with the habits in a way that I haven’t been able to on my own. Writing down daily wins and sharing those on the call made a huge difference for me as well. I felt like my mindset shifted a lot because of this.

I started struggling with emotional, stressful and binge eating for the past three years after a severe trauma. I then started to follow crash diets that were bound to fail each time. (Restrict/binge cycle).

I was constantly feeling terrible, tired, down, not motivated, struggling with poor body image and self esteem, not living and enjoying the moment, feeling bloated and swollen. I was living a life that doesn’t resemble the real person I am; a highly motivated, fit and athletic woman.

I reached out to work with Christina after several failures, and it was my last resort.

She helped me in a great way. By being able to talk to somebody neutral, non-judgmental, and professional in the field who is there to help me build skills slowly to reach my sustainable goal.

To anyone on the fence of working 1:1 with Christina, Go.For.Itttttt

Before working with Christina, I was regularly binging and had a fear of binging. I wanted to be happy and stress free with food, which was constantly on my mind. I felt like it was causing me to miss out with my friends and family. I did not understand what the triggers for my binging were and it was frustrating to not understand the causes.

I liked Christina’s approach because it was personalized to me and based in things I could apply daily to my life. She made me feel normal and safe in our conversations. She was flexible and understanding and non judgmental.

Thanks to Christina and our work together, I have had time to reflect and apply the skills I am learning. I totally understand what triggers my binges, and I have gained self confidence. I now understand that I am more than a binge and if I overeat, its because I choose to not because I can’t control myself.

If you are on the fence about working with Christina 1:1, GO FOR IT!

  • Sharon*

When looking online for nutrition coaching help, it is challenging because there are so many conflicting people telling how to lose weight when you're 60 years old.

I liked Christina’s nonjudgmental way of speaking and how she helped me reframe my way of thinking of my meals and my weight.

Coaching 1:1 with Christina is helpful because she designs a plan around you and your specific style. I wanted to have a concrete plan that worked for my lifestyle and allowed me to lose weight.

She helped answer all of my questions and helped me gain an awareness of the importance of protein in my meals to make them more satisfying and help reduce snacking. She also showed me that I don’t have to deprive myself of “treats” and how to make sure I am not overdoing it.

  • Kris*

Before working with Christina, I was feeling very discouraged, disappointed, and embarrassed. I had tried Weight watchers and fad diets before, but they always felt like too much trouble and effort.

I wanted to feel stronger, more comfortable in my clothing, and confident in my skin. Christina had a creative flexibility that helped me to navigate the challenges and restrictions of my job.

I thought I would never be able to do this and I was surprised because it actually felt EASY!

The weekly calls really helped me be accountable and stay focused on what I was doing. Christina also gave me supplemental articles, videos, to read between our calls, which I really loved.

Whether I lose weight or not, I feel confident and no longer feel self-loathing like I have in the past.

  • Emma

My mother attended one of Christina’s healthy eating virtual seminars and told me to reach out to her because she believed that Christina’s lifestyle-change approach would be better suited to me than just a typical run-of-the-mill nutritionist diet plan.

I began working with Christina in the middle of January 2022 with the goals of losing weight and gaining more confidence in the way I look so I would feel more comfortable dating. While I already understood what foods were considered healthy, I discovered that changes in the way I eat and the amount I was eating have changed my relationship with food. Learning that what I’m doing when I’m eating, my stress levels during the day, and my hormones all impacted how much I would eat.

Christina uses a system of food tracking that brings attention to other lifestyle changes that impact your relationship with food. After 2.5 months, I had already lost 12lbs. It’s more than that though, I’ve learned what a profound impact a positive relationship with food has on my skin, my sleep, and my mood. Christina makes each week’s goals manageable, attainable, and skills that are maintainable for life.

  • Eve R.

I started nutrition counseling with Christina because I wanted to lose weight, something that I have struggled with my whole life. Christina guided me through working with life-long habits with regard to food, and creating new, healthier and more sustainable habits.

Christina is very easy to talk to, non-judgemental, practical and very experienced. I have lost weight and yesterday, was able to fit comfortably into a favourite pair of pants that had been hanging in the closet for a long time and had been way too tight to wear. That was a great feeling.

    Thank you, Christina.

  • Kerri

I enjoy so many aspects of working with Christina. She makes it NOT unpleasant to take a closer look at myself. She is always willing to meet me where I am. Planning and practice has made a huge difference for me. This is truly a lifelong journey and good choices and mindfulness need to be baked into my lifestyle to make it all stick.

I appreciate how Christina encourages being kind to yourself, reflecting on what could have been different, and planning so that I can be successful for the following week. She is very tapped into her client's needs.

There are many coaches out there that employ the "hard ass" approach to get their clients results. I've been down that road in my younger days and I know now that is not what I needed. I needed accountability, but I also needed thoughtfulness and partnership.

Christina is always generous with her knowledge, expertise, personal experience, and empathy. This has been such an incredible experience for me. I have learned a lot about myself, and I am learning how make the most of my healthy habits, what I want to eat, and the experiences that I want to have with my family while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

if you are thinking about potentially hiring a nutrition coach, I would highly recommend checking out Christina and what she has to offer. She has been an awesome partner and I really have enjoyed the experience much more than I even thought I would.

  • Felicity*

Before working with Christina, I was regularly binge eating, struggling with my body, and thinking about food constantly.

I wanted to improve my relationship with food, eat healthier, and to have a better opinion of my body. I wanted to be at peace and not have to think about food or my body.

Christina gave very clear directions, in a step by step way, building on each week.

It really helps me to have someone understand the struggles I have with food. She has a great way of communicating and uplifting someone.

I have really loved working with her and she has helped me tremendously.

I would highly recommend working with Christina to anyone who needs help with their relationship with food, overcoming binge eating, or self acceptance.

  • Amanda*

Christina is a warm, thoughtful practitioner who combines real listening with a deep knowledge of nutrition and food psychology. Christina clearly cares about her clients and is a warm and affirming presence as I navigate my journey to food freedom.

Christina is good at analyzing patterns in behavior and at identifying what I really want. For example, I do have some fat loss that I have as a goal and she was able to keep this in mind even when helping me process patterns of restriction. She has a nuanced style.

Her warmth, flexibility, accountability and direct communication have been particularly helpful in my journey.

  • Caleb

Before I started working with Christina, my diet was all over the place. My diet consisted of junk food and take out. I had no structure and I felt out of control. From our first call, Christina was understanding of my situation and completely non-judgmental. We started with one small change. As the weeks went by we added one new skill and practiced that. It was good as I was never overwhelmed with too many changes.

By the end, I had structure, eating three meals a day. These meals were balanced and I was surprised that I had even been able to add some fruit and vegetables. It was also flexible, I was still able to have some treats that I could enjoy without guilt.

I feel so much better about myself and I would recommend Christina to anyone looking for a friendly and supportive nutrition coach.

  • Nancy T.

Christina has given me so many new ways to look at food. She helped me understand how to deal with guilt....internal (from myself) and external (from others) which was a big cause of my overeating. She has helped me develop the skills to stop and think about food before eating it, and to pay attention to my body.

The tracker system has helped me give structure to my otherwise sporadic eating. Christina always listened to what was going on in my real life and helped me to maintain a practice and stay on track in spite of "life" happening.

  • Bob

I have an ingrained habit of under eating and I felt like I didn’t know how to actually eat. I reached out to get coaching with Christina at the recommendation of a friend.

One of the things I enjoyed about working with Christina is the ease in which she guided me through the process of observing my emotions towards myself and how they coincide with my eating.

It was particularly helpful that Christina never made me feel like I had to change things over night. And that it was ok to make slow progress towards eating more.

After working with Christina, I now understand more that I need to eat more and that I am worthy of doing so.

To anyone on the fence about working with Christina: If not now, then when?

  • Rose

I have really enjoyed working with Christina. She met me where I was. She started slow and helped me to understand how to implement habits, plan my meals, and schedule better, instead of just letting life "happen" to me.

Christina is incredibly patient. She taught me how to really understand how to listen to my body, eat based on hunger and really enjoy my meals more. My mood and energy have both improved since learning some nutritional skills. I highly recommend working with Christina!

  • Kathy N.

Before working with Christina, I was struggling with where to start with my health and wellness goals. I felt kinda hopeless and overwhelmed with getting started.

Christina facilitated a very warm and easy conversation, helping me to reframe and expand my goals to be more than just food related, but life and lifestyle related as well.

Through our work together, having personalized attention relevant to my interests and journey has helped me reach small, attainable goals.

This is a relatively finite commitment to help you find focus and a plan for accomplishing your goals. It is worth it!

  • Mason*

Before working with Christina, I was on a wrong course and my weight was becoming a problem for my quality of life. I knew I needed to make a change.

I felt like eating was controlling my life. I was struggling with binge and emotional eating. I had tried several diets in the past but I couldn’t seem to keep the results long term.

I reached out to Christina at the recommendation from my gym. I needed a competent professional to help guide me.

Having someone who takes the time to listen in a non judgmental way has been a very helpful resource. She has given me constructive ways to create awareness of my relationship with food and improve it. She has helped me understand how my decisions today are an investment in my future.

If you are on the fence about working with Christina, absolutely give it a try! It works. There’s no magic here.

  • Dana*

Christina has been so reliably supportive, realistic, and patient with me on this journey.

I really like how it feels having a structure/framework but it’s also flexible to accommodate changing needs and priorities.

The weekly encouragement and support—even when I've had a hard week, and her reminders to go easy on myself so as not to sabotage my progress have made the biggest difference for me.

I really like that we work on priority areas of the habits, to establish healthy patterns and relationships with eating while also being willing to work on goals around body changes.

I would definitely recommend working with Christina!

  • Kiana

As a university cross country and track and field athlete, I have struggled with eating challenges with regards to fueling enough my sport. I had a fear of weight gain which led to unnecessary restriction of certain foods, and not feeling in tune with my hunger and fullness signals. It felt extremely frustrating and exhausting to be constantly over analyzing everything I ate.

Christina made me feel like my struggles were normal and took the shame out of talking about them. She helped me capture sabotaging thoughts and respond to myself kindly. She helped me identify patterns of eating that weren't helping me. I learned how to tune into my feelings of satisfaction after eating, how to recognize if I was giving myself enough food, and if I was eating simply out of stress.

As a nutrition student going to become a dietician, I always thought it was silly for me to seek nutrition coaching, because I should know how to handle it on my own, right? Wrong! it’s been extremely helpful, eye-opening, and comforting to work with Christina, and there’s nothing stopping you from making those changes too. Give it a try!

  • Lynlee

Before working with Christina, I had a hard time controlling my portion sizes. After a very rough beginning of my pregnancy in 2019, I was CONSTANTLY hungry at the end of it, and after delivery while breastfeeding. After my body no longer needed all of the extra calories, I still continued to eat to the point of being over full just because that became my new “food habit.” I would feel uncomfortable and tended to seek comfort in food. This left me feeling like I was stuck in a negative cycle of overeating, then being disappointed in myself for overeating, and then reaching again to food for comfort at the next meal time. Christina has helped me to break that habit and to listen to my body’s natural cues for hunger and fullness versus eating just to eat/emotional eating.

I had tried other programs that helped me lose a lot of my pregnancy weight initially, but then I just plateaued at a weight/size/health style that I knew was not my most healthy. I missed being the person I was before my baby and wanted to get back to loving my body like I did before pregnancy (regardless of numbers on the scale). I am not (and was not) concerned most about my numerical weight. I am most concerned about getting back into a healthy lifestyle that makes me love living in this body. Christina has helped me start the journey to understanding my body, making positive food choices, encouraging movement, and loving my body for what she can do for me! I’m excited about becoming more healthy, fit, and strong in the upcoming weeks.

If you’re not sure about nutrition coaching, you should give it a try. I wasn’t sure that I’d see or feel results, but I have and it’s been totally worth the time you put into it! Thank you, Christina, for helping me get back to feeling more like “me”.

  • Renee

I tried everything - diets with the little pre-packaged foods, counting points, low carb, high carb, no carb. I would lose weight initially but never kept it off. It turned into a vicious cycle. Why would I work so hard to lose 10 pounds and then gain it back with a little bit more each time? It had to be my approach and relationship with food.

What I realized in working with Christina is that I was letting my mind control what and when I ate rather than listening to my body. We are focusing on life-long habits to approach weight control. I was constantly craving sugar in part to my blood sugar levels never being stable. My sweet cravings have disappeared!

I would highly recommend working with Christina. Whenever I encounter a challenge, Christina is there to give me helpful advice and solutions. Remember, you didn’t gain weight overnight so losing it will take a while. It is a marathon, not a sprint!

  • Caroline S.*

Wonderful listener. Encouraging, validating, everything you would want from a coach. Also, knowledgeable and flexible.

The combination of good listening and a few good ideas made a big difference.

It was particularly helpful to understand the fine line between wanting to change eating habits as a way to regulate weight and poor body image.

  • Daniel W.

Christina met me where I was, wherever I was, even if that meant not necessarily keeping the topic relegated to nutrition, binge eating, and so on.

The thing that made the biggest difference for me was the structure of taking things slowly and really listening to my challenges.

  • Carmen C.

Before working with Christina, I had a lot of doubts about my ability to overcome my disordered eating habits. Christina worked with me and gave me tips that helped solve those problems and doubts.

Before I joined the programme and was coached by Christina, I was really uncertain of myself and was always feeling so doubtful. But Christina helped me dissolve my doubts and build confidence. Now I’m much more confident about me being able to conquer this disordered eating thing.
